RAWWRRR!!
So not happy right now. After being on hold for almost 25min, I finally got through to customer support at Telus Mobility. He confirmed all my suspicions. The phone essentially won't work outside of this city and is only good in other major cities since it's an older phone. The people who sold me the activation kit outright lied to me about the service. They knew exactly what I wanted the phone for and where I was going to go with it. They still sold me the activation kit knowing it was worthless to me. In other words, I'm out a bit over $130 in this fiasco and there's nothing I can do about it. Instead, I have to go see about buying a new phone and start over. But I will not deal with Telus ever again. I should have gone with my first choice, should have gone with Bell Mobility instead. Now I have to go buy a new phone (not a used one this time) and a new activation kit from them. It'll probably cost me upwards of $250, but at least I can be guaranteed that the service will work in a large area. Blah. So not happy right now.
The thing that bothers me the most is....this will have to come out of my car savings to pay for it. That's a fair size set back.
