Education and the news

On a station I watch my news, they are spending a week on the topic of education and how the political parties stand on each issue they talk about each day. Today was the pro-teacher side of things. It was the usual stuff, the public often commenting on how we're unworked and overpaid, talk to teachers and such. But one thing was mentioned that I think would really help. Require the Education Minister and the deputy to do at least a five week practicum (internship of sorts) before taking the job so they can have a real idea of what it's like to be a teacher. It probably would solve a lot of issues heh.
