From last night before bed:

I didn't get a call to work today, so I did go in for my consultation at the dentist office. I discovered it was mostly about going over my insurance because it's so screwed up and hard to understand. They were going to help me go through it and hopefully, figure it out themselves. The group that manages the program is being kinda weird which doesn't help. From what we can tell, my claim will be covered for the most part. But they use the old 1999 fee guide for determining how much things should cost while the dentist is in reality, so that doesn't help. Combine that with how the insurance tries to insist on having me get the older type of fillings (amalgam fillings) instead of the newer and better white fillings (can't remember technical name for them). So, the insurance will cover the cost of the old ones and I pay the difference sort of thing. As they said, this is to replace two of my old fillings that are damaging my teeth, otherwise, the teeth are fine which is good news.

Talking with her was fun and interesting. Somehow we ended up talking about my educational background and then about quantum mechanics....odd but interesting. Not exactly something that comes up in conversation all too often heh. Also a talk about teaching/teachers and what makes a good one, etc. 'Twas a nice conversation with an interesting lady (also talked about her past as well and where she's all lived and such).

So yes, we are being hit with freezing rain at the moment, not good. Temperatures are to rise over night which will help melt some of it, but then in the early morning, the temperature is going to drop below freezing which will make everything into a giant ice rink. Yay. If the temperature drops early enough in the morning, it may get interesting trying to get to work if I'm called.

Composite fillings are the white ones. They are better, cosmetically, but if you have a particularly deep/bad cavity, then the old amalgams are better for that. When I got mine, I said she could just do what she thought was best, and I came out with mostly composite, one amalgam because it was stronger.
