Well, the problems with my car are worse than expected it seems. After some checking of things, we discovered that I also needed a new starter. So around noon today we went out and picked up the parts needed to fix it all. We called CAA for a tow to the garage my brother uses for his car and doing work. Much better to work in a warm environment after all, especially after all the snow we had.
After this, I went off to work today. After much annoyances, I found something resembling an accident report to fill out. I'm filling one out for my injured wrist in case something happens in the future. I only worked for about three of the four hours. I just couldn't handle the pain anymore. I need two hands to do the work due to the weight of things involved and facing is a bitch when you can't use both hands. I asked to leave early and it was no big deal. Tomorrow morning I'm going to call to make an appointment to see the doctor.
This all leads to more Bad car! stuff. When I got home, I was happy to see my car back out front. What I learned after talking with my dad and brother was that there is more trouble. As far as the engine is concerned, I had no gas even though I in fact have almost a full tank. Blah. Brother went through a car manual to get some info on my car. He wants to make sure the wiring is okay and to try to figure out exactly what was going on. It's been an odd series of events for me it seems. He still has to put in a fuse in a circuit he did. So I can't work tomorrow it seems. This makes it easier to make the appointment then I guess. All told, I'm going to have paid about $350 in repairs. To put this in a better perspective, if I had had this done in a garage by another mechanic, I probably would have paid about $600 (or more) instead. In other words, a bad weekend for me. Bad car! stuff and wrist problems.
Now tonight I was talking with my friend from PEI. I found out he may be coming to Kitchener around the 17th of March to see a brother of his. If he does, I'm going to have to arrange some visits to see him again. He's always been a great friend. So that was a good thing in this not so great weekend.
