It's a petition asking the G8 countries to drop all their debts to Africa, and increase foreign aid to levels much higher than what they are now. In most cases, raising them to where their countries leaders promised long ago. Politicians rarely act unless their people pester them to do something. So fill out the petition, it will send emails to the leader of the country and your local representative to get them to raise the issues with the leader.

Be sure to read the emails they suggest you send to be sure you agree with them. If you don't care, just click and they'll send it for you. Otherwise you can edit the message as you wish.

I modified mine...not by eliminating some part of the message, but the conditions the groups suggest. I don't think we should limit foreign aid to just child poverty (or to just the poorest of the poor) as the message suggests; I refuse the idea of canceling debt to governments who are corrupt but the message makes no such distinction; and finally, I don't like the idea of giving out blank cheques. So I deleted those conditions but the idea of canceling debt and increasing aid are there. That's my preference. If may not be yours. But please support the cause, you never know what may happen.

Remember politicians are cowards...they want your input before they do things.
