Question of the Day
Aug. 1st, 2003 07:44 amHow do seedless orange trees reproduce?
Seedless orange trees are created from existing trees by a process called grafting. Grafting involves trimming limbs from another plant and then placing them in the ground so they take root. Other seedless fruits, such as grapes, are grown by this same process. The first seedless orange tree was a mutant that grew in Brazil in the early 1800's; all seedless orange trees are descended from it.
