Light pollution
Jul. 16th, 2001 09:33 amGah! I don't understand some peoples ideas at times. Let's see, power energy crisis, fiscal constraint, so therefore we must replace existing light bulbs to something vastly more inefficient that will increase the electric cost to even use. Not to mention the cost of replacing all the lights. Stuff like this also kills astronomers chances of doing research due to all of the light pollution. And with some of the light pollution, there is no way to filter it out at all. The telescope essentially becomes useless. All of this based on what is anecdotal evidence at best and other annoying reasons. Article is here if you want to view what I'm referring to.
