The idiots that run the school board are really screwed up. The high school I'm at was supposed to have a spirit day tomorrow to cap off spirit week, and it was cancelled. On monday, the teachers were to have an in-service, something I've been interested in seeing. Cancelled. Why were they cancelled you are wondering? Snow? Bad road conditions? Nope. Cancelled because of the POSSIBILITY of more snow days in the future. What kind of fucked up reasoning is this? Students have only missed six days so far. Six days is nothing. Time can be easily made up without cancelling things. The in-service was to meet to start several school improvement initiatives which are now shelved indefinitely. The spirit day may or may not come back in the future. There is an inservice tomorrow for some teachers, and that has not been cancelled. What this means is that, there will be at least ten substitute teachers in tomorrow. Yeah, real productive. To say I'm peeved is an understatement. I would like to see what an in-service is like, and because of this cancellation, and the previous cancellations, I may not see one during my internship at all. The students are really upset over losing a 3 day weekend and an extra day off tomorrow of fun activities.
